Of the total residential sales carried out by Athena Advisers in 2022 in the Portuguese market, more than 46% were made to families wishing to settle in Portugal, namely in the Lisbon region, a trend that, according to the consultant, will continue to leading purchase intentions and boosting the real estate market.

“Today there is a very different customer profile than it was five or six years ago, when the foreign market in Portugal was dominated by investors who wanted to have a plan B and generate income, motivated by the good yields that were fixed around the 6% or 7%”, explains Carlota Pelikan.

“Currently, with low yields and a scenario of insecurity all over the world, demand from families has intensified, and even from the perspective of the investor who intends to rent in the long term, it makes perfect sense that the choice of the area takes into account the needs of families.”
