When the leaving cert students sat down to start the aural section of the Irish paper it was to their delight that the Irish spoken wasn’t from the Donegal.
Even though Donegal is a beautiful and scenic county it has the downside of being the toughest type of Irish to understand especially for students from the East Coast where the style they learn throughout their school life has many slight differences in wording and spelling.
So, it was something that students were relieved about when the examiner pressed the play button for the Irish Aural.
