The IPMA also placed more than 100 municipalities in the districts of Faro, Beja, Évora, Setúbal, Santarém, Lisbon, Leiria, Portalegre, Castelo Branco, Coimbra, Viseu, Porto, Braga, Vila Real and Bragança in very high risk.

In high risk are also more than a hundred municipalities in the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Vila Real, Porto, Aveiro, Viseu, Guarda, Coimbra, Leiria, Santarém, Lisbon, Setúbal, Évora and Portalegre.

Due to the hot weather, the risk of fire will remain high at least until Sunday.

This risk, determined by IPMA, has five levels, ranging from low to maximum, and the calculations are obtained from the air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and amount of precipitation in the last 24 hours.

IPMA predicts for today a drop in temperature, especially the maximum, and strong wind on the west coast and highlands, with gusts up to 75/80 kilometres per hour (km/h).

The sky will be cloudy or clear, with periods of increased cloudiness in the far north, and there will be fog or mist in the morning in some parts of the North and Centre

Maximum temperatures will vary between 23º in Aveiro and 38º in Faro, while the minimum temperatures will be between 15º in Bragança, Braga and Guarda and 22º in Faro.
