From the 21st to 23rd of July, Jazz nights are back in Lagoa with Lagoa Jazz Fest 23, an event whose highlight is the ample cultural offer of the Algarvian summer. Now in its 18th edition, the Sítio das Fontes Municipal Park in Estômbar is once again the stage chosen for the festival, this year being one of the most ambitious and eclectic rosters ever.

Camille Bertault, who Vanity Fair named the “new voice of jazz,” and Le Figaro, the “mischievous talent.” These people will make their presence in Lagoa known alongside names like Polly Gibbons, who currently plays in the Algarve Jazz Orchestra under maestro Hugo Alves. Repeating the investment Lagoa Jazz Fest made into the diversity of aesthetics and instruments more or less conventional to jazz, this year’s cast featuring two incomparable people on the accordion, João Barradas and Vincent Peirani, as well as Suite Nordeste, a Brazilian trio act assumedly inspired by a mixture of styles and influences from popular Brazilian genres erudite and jazz.

Lagoa Jazz Fest 2023 will present excellent quality acts, with some of the best players of Harpa, Koto, Harmonica, Cymbalom, Bandoneon and Vibraphone, among others. Between solo, duos, trios, quartets, quintets and Big Band, there is no motive to miss this edition of the festival.

Since 2003, over 250 musicians from countries like Portugal, Spain, the USA, France, Italy, Austria, Brazil, Argentina, Japan, Colombia and India took to the Lagoa Jazz Fest stage at the Sítio das Fontes.

The tickets for each day of the event cost 12€ and are available at Lagoa Municipality ticket shops, namely the St. Joseph Convent, Carlos do Carmo Municipal Auditorium, and the Balcão Único. A 20% discount is available at these ticket shops if a cultural passport, Lagoa Social card or Rota do Petisco 2022 Passport is shown. Tickets are also for sale at www.cmlagoa.bol.pt, at the event location during the days it’s on, as well as in establishments like CTT, Fnac and Worten.
