As of 1 September, 37 more speed cameras will be active in Portugal, 12 of them average speed cameras. If you want to know how to tell them apart, the National Road Safety Authority (ANSR) has given an explanation, as reported by NM.

"All radars of the National Speed Control System are always signposted. The objective is that everyone who circulates on the roads knows these places and complies, in all situations, with the speed limits, protecting not only their own life but also that of their family and others".

For instantaneous speed cameras, sign H43 will be placed a few meters before.

In the case of being in the presence of an average-speed camera, the sign will be different. The H42 is the new sign in Portugal.
