On Friday, September 8, at 8.15 p.m. (Irish time), the competition's opening match will be shown live on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player between the hosts France and the three-time champions New Zealand.

Ireland's games against Tonga (September 16) and South Africa (September 23), as well as their first Pool B game against Romania (September 9), are all live on RTÉ2 and the RTÉ Player, while their final group matchup against Scotland (7 October) is shown live on Virgin Media.

Jacqui Hurley will present the coverage and Hugh Cahill, Des Curran, and Connor Morris will provide commentary for all the live games that will be broadcast on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player.

On Against the Head on RTÉ2, Daire O'Brien will also provide a thorough summary of the news and events from France every Monday.

Throughout the competition, RTÉ correspondents Clare MacNamara, Justin Treacy, Paul O'Flynn, Michael Glennon, and Neil Treacy will be at the Ireland camp in France.

On RTÉ Radio 1, Michael Corcoran and David Humphreys will also provide live coverage.

Head of RTÉ Sport Declan McBennett stated: “With excitement building for the RWC, we are thrilled to deliver the complete event to the Irish audience free to air in partnership with Virgin Media.”

“The competition promises to deliver some brilliant moments and memories from France, and RTÉ Sport will bring you the thrills, spills, and talking points across all platforms.”

If Ireland were to advance to a quarterfinal, the game would be shown live on Virgin Media, while a potential semifinal would be broadcast live on RTÉ.
