“Faro has a lot to offer”

With regards to their latest project, when asked why Faro was chosen up against other locations in the Algarve, the founder of Urban Green Private shared “Our research is showing us that more and more people are interested in living in a town, with genuine organic roots in the area.”

“As a location, it is not established so we are pioneering for Faro but we hope we get support from locals and investors to support the project and it is the first of its kind and there will be more to follow.”

Adding that, “Faro would be the oldest town in the capital of the Algarve and it has suffered from a lack of investment for a long period of time. We see a charm in that and we also see an opportunity and we are excited when we see the likes of the 3HB Faro hotels, I think that is of international standard and it is showing people what Faro has to offer.”

Their most recent project, The Shipyard is undergoing construction in Faro, Portugal, which is a “very modern and exciting development for Faro.”

The Shipyard consists of 32 luxury apartments with typologies from T1 to T4. The fully equipped apartments are fantastic and spacious with areas between 91m2 (T1) and 153m2 (T4). Each apartment has two balconies to ensure that residents can fully enjoy the best of the Algarve's climate.

The founder added, “I think it is a step up in terms of some of the services with our pool on the roof overlooking the sea and EV chargers for every car and ample car parking which is a challenge in Faro, so we think that it is a start in doing something really exciting in the region.”

The founder expressed that “Urban Green Private see the opportunity in Faro as a stepping stone into the Portuguese market. We think Portugal is a fantastic location and internationally, Portugal is becoming more renowned for safety, and security of tenor, and by that, I mean the legal system is robust so your property is secure from a legal perspective. Then internationally, the Algarve is growing quite a reputation of being a very safe and sound investment. We are just one of a number of real estate developers that moved into the region and we hope to extend our reach.”

Transforming Communities

Urban Green Private is a total real estate solution provider, who will take control of your real estate experience from the very beginning to the very end. “We plan, we build, we develop, we sell, we rent and we manage, so all the security and all the build works are under the umbrella of Urban Green Private.”

The founder told The Portugal News, “We are very successful in transforming communities where there has been a lack of energy. We focus on looking at assets that are underperforming and we have got our team into play and we then transform that community by putting in some key local stakeholders that allow the budget to grow organically.”

The founder explained, “We are very passionate about developing sustainable communities and we have done it more than once so we are excited about the platform we have created and we are excited about developing the relationship between Ireland and Portugal.”

Urban Green Private is experienced enough to really add value to the Faro community and that is what we are most excited about. I find that culturally Ireland and Portugal are quite similar and a big part of property development is that you understand the country you are developing in.”

When it comes to successful community transformations, the founder spoke about two recent projects in Ireland, firstly, the Uber EMEA HQ which is located on Thomas Street in Limerick which has recently undergone major refurbishment and redesign and secondly, The Marina Market which has become a hub of the Cork community with over 30 vendors, making its food offering one of the most diverse in Cork city.”

When asked about the future, the founder affirmed “We would like to do more projects in Portugal but as any international developer, we are dipping our toes and trying to understand the market. Logistically, we will be focusing between Faro, Loulé and Quarteira over the next 10 years which is being headed by the team led by Emanuel D’Almeida who are ambitious about their region.”

The Shipyard’s sales office is located on R. Ascensão Guimarães 25, 8004-038 Faro.
