According to Sul Informação, this project is being promoted by municipal company Loulé Concelho Global and is the result of an initiative by the EIT Urban Mobility Institute, a European Union organization, with two technological companies as partners – NEMI Mobility Solutions SL and Factual Consulting Barcelona -, the Center for Environmental Studies of Spain, based in Vitoria-Gasteiz, and the Municipality of Vilafranca del Penedés, in Catalonia.
In the municipality of Loulé, the Digital Bus project “aims to promote the use of public transport through the provision of digital tools to support users by providing real-time information on the location of buses that circulate on the “Apanha-me!” network”, according to Loulé Concelho Global.
“With the aim of facilitating the use of the municipal urban transport network, the digital application will respond to passengers greatest needs, such as bus departure and arrival times, bus travel and arrival times and real-time location of buses”.
