Even so, demand in the Lisbon Metro is still below pre-Covid levels, according to data released by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Action.

During this period, the Porto Metro transported 72,643 passengers, an increase of 22% compared to the 13,085 passengers transported in the same period last year. Compared to the pre-pandemic figure, this is 7,382 more passengers (11%).

At the same time, Transtejo/Soflusa transported 18,058 passengers during the first 11 months of this year, which represents an increase of 25% compared to the 14,435 registered in the same period last year. This is 305 more passengers (2%), compared to the same period in 2019.

As for the Lisbon Metro, it transported 148,168 passengers between January and November, an increase of 22% compared to the 121,685 registered in the same period of 2022. Even so, demand in the Lisbon metro is still 7% below the 158,715 passengers transported in 2019, that is, pre-pandemic.
