According to the Daily Mail, which cites "court documents", in April of that same year, days before Madeleine McCann disappeared from the room where she slept with her twin brothers, Brueckner kidnapped a 14-year-old teenager from a "Portuguese" beach, taking her to the house he had rented.

The 47-year-old German is accused not only of having kidnapped the minor but of having "tied her to a post", and forced her to "perform sexual acts" while allegedly filming the incident.

Christian Brueckner is, according to German authorities, the main suspect in the McCann case. Investigators believe that he killed the British girl, then four years old, most likely in Portugal, however, the German has not yet been formally charged.
