The Mostra Silves Capital da Laranja will occur from February 16 to February 18, where dozens of exhibitors linked to citrus growing, wines, agriculture, regional products, sweets, crafts and gastronomy, will take place in the Pavilhão de Feiras e Exposições in the Algarvian city of Silves.

The Silves City Council announced that the 8th edition of the exhibition will feature artists such as Gisela João, on February 16, Carolina Deslandes, February 17, and the comedian Serafim, on February 18.

The Conferência Laranja XXI, which is included in the exhibition, will “give a voice to farmers and to this sector of agriculture, which is of special importance for the municipality of Silves”.

The exhibition will open its doors on February 16 at 10.00am, with the official inauguration scheduled for 10:30am.

A new feature in this year’s exhibition is the “Classic & Flair bartending” Nacional Final, part of the Nacional Cocktail Competition, which determines the national champions of the aforementioned modalities, who will represent Portugal in the next World Cocktail Championship 2024.

This edition will also include highlights such as show cooking, the Valentine’s march, and the performance of various traditional music and dance groups.

The municipality adds that alongside the exhibition, “another edition of the Fim de Semana de Sabor will take place in restaurants in the city, where diverse menus will be presented, staring the queen of the orchard: the orange. The city of Silves, due to its unique characteristics, provides even more flavour to the gastronomy, which can be washed down with a good Silves Wine and complemented with delicious citrus deserts”.

With a focus on the citrus industry which takes place in the municipality of Silves, the improvement of this sector is the main objective of the exhibition “Silves Capital da Laranja”.
