A sector source revealed to Notícias ao Minuto, that diesel fuel is expected to rise by 3.5 cents per litre, while petrol will increase by 0.5 cents.

This week petrol became two cents more expensive, while the price of diesel fell 1.5 cents, and is now expected to rise sharply.

According to data released by the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology (DGEG), at the moment the average price of simple diesel fuel stands at €1.618/litre. Simple 95 petrol costs €1,801/litre.

It should be noted that these average daily prices "are calculated based on prices communicated by petrol stations, weighted with the quantities sold in the last known period, incorporating discounts offered at gas stations such as fleet cards and others".
