The project will carry out interventions in water supply networks with “higher levels of real losses”, creating Monitoring and Control Zones to control the network in a “more detailed” manner and ensure the reduction of water consumption due to losses, representing a value of around 4.7 million euros (ME).
“In this context, the award of the contract for replacing the water supply pipeline from the RI reservoir (located in Falfeira) to the city of Lagos was also approved. The work will be carried out on the stretch between the São João Roundabout and the Bus Terminal”, said the Faro District Council.
The Algarve local authority highlighted that these interventions, alongside others already underway or awarded, represent a “global investment of over eight million euros” and make “an important contribution” to the goals defined in the Algarve Regional Water Efficiency Plan.
