In a statement, the IPMA says that the yellow warning was issued between midnight and noon on Saturday for the north and south coasts and mountainous regions of the islands of Madeira and Porto Santo.

Forecasts indicate the occurrence of sometimes heavy rain showers, which may be in the form of hail, accompanied by thunderstorms.
