This collaborative environmental action, taking place on Tuesday, 20th May, from 09:00h to 12:30h, is a joint effort between Infralobo and Vale do Lobo. It aims to mark European Maritime Day in the most meaningful way - by raising environmental awareness and encouraging community engagement.
This edition will welcome a record number of 288 students from the Agrupamento de Escolas de Almancil and Aspire International School, aged between 5 and 14, along with 29 accompanying adults, all coming together with a shared mission: to contribute directly to the protection and conservation of the natural environment.
The event will commence with a brief opening address, featuring the presence of several official entities supporting this initiative, including the President of Infralobo EM, Carlos Manso; the Managing Director of Vale do Lobo Resort, Eduardo Johnston da Silva; Loulé City Councillor, Mariline Zacarias; and the President of the Almancil Parish Council, Lieutenant Colonel Joaquim Pinto.
The meeting point will be at the Vale do Lobo Praça beach complex, where residents, guests, and members of the local community will gather before setting off on a guided walk to help clean and maintain the beaches of Vale do Lobo, Garrão Nascente, and Garrão Poente.
Participation in this initiative is free, however, for better operational management and insurance purposes, prior registration on the Eventbrite platform is required. All volunteers are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing, bring a hat, sunscreen, and water.
