According to the manager of the national airport network, the opening of 35 new routes contributed to the increase in the number of passengers to 69.2 million, 4% more than in 2023 and 17% above 2019 levels, before the covid-19 pandemic.

Last year, ANA paid the State 15 million euros under the revenue sharing mechanism provided for in the concession contract.

Investment in infrastructure exceeded 100 million euros, with the most significant increases at the airports of the Azores (+125%), Porto (64%) and Faro (+62%).

Among the main projects underway, ANA highlights the new South Pier and the renovation of the Central Pier of Terminal 1 in Lisbon, with a global investment of around 250 million euros, as well as the renovation of the runway at Porto Airport, with 53 million euros planned and 6.2 million already executed.

The company also highlights the rehabilitation of the Ponta Delgada and Horta terminals, totalling 17 million euros, and the intervention in the roof of Faro Airport, with 4.4 million euros applied in 2024, out of a planned total of 17 million.

The construction of the new Porto Santo terminal is also underway, with an estimated investment of 40 million euros, and the renovation of Terminal 2 in Lisbon, with 12 million euros planned, of which 4.7 million will already be implemented in 2024.

For ANA CEO Thierry Ligonnière, the results “are a reflection of rigorous management and a sustainable business model, capable of generating value for the State”.

ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal is the concessionaire of the national airport network under a concession contract signed in December 2012 with the Portuguese State, lasting 50 years.

The company is wholly owned by VINCI Airports, a French group that is a world leader in transport infrastructure management, with a presence in more than 70 airports in 13 countries.
