Chancellor Christian Stocker joined Italy’s Prime Minister at the ceremony, celebrating a project set to shift large amounts of freight onto trains and off the roads in the country’s congested north.
This railway will cut travel time between Munich and Vienna by 2.5 hours, while reducing the trip from Milan to Paris to 4.5 hours.
