A magnitude 2.0 earthquake was felt today in the municipality of Benavente, in the district of Santarém, without causing personal or property damage, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

In a statement, the IPMA said the earthquake had its epicentre approximately 10 kilometres east-southeast of Benavente and was recorded at 2:07 am today, October 27th.
This earthquake caused no personal or property damage and was felt with a maximum intensity III (modified Mercalli scale) in the municipality of Benavente.
