Surrounded by mist, Sintra has a biodiverse forest with plants from all over the worlds, being almost like a poem, or a fairytale that became reality.
Sintra has always been an enchanting charm, being considered, in 1809, by the poet Lord Byron, the most beautiful village in the world.
The beauty does not reside only in the city centre, but also in the outskirts, in the forest, where the Palace of Monserrate or the Convento dos Capuchos are placed.
Sintra is a city where structures seem to defy real life, and the reason behind this may be explained by the past, when the civilisations were deeply connected with their region, and also the Moon. In fact, there is the possibility of Sintra being named after the Greek Goddess of the Moon, Cynthia.
Now, it makes more sense for this city to feel so dreamy and to be filled with magical attractions.
