The design evokes the energy of the ocean, starting from the iconic red base to integrate wavy patterns and green details.

“With Portugal’s new main jersey, we wanted to capture the nation’s deep connection with the ocean and transfer that energy to the field,” said Marco Mueller, senior director of product line management performance apparel at Puma. “The wave-inspired pattern and bold red and green palette reflect a team that never stops moving forward, fuelled by passion and courage,” he further explains in a statement.

According to João Medeiros Cardoso, general director of FPF Comercial, “this jersey carries in the soul of Portugal the strength of our ocean, the courage that defines us, and the pride of millions of Portuguese people who experience the National Team with a unique emotion. Alongside Puma, we wanted to create a symbol that not only honours our roots but also projects Portugal to the world, reflecting the ambition to take our identity to new markets and new fans.”
