The tribute to Michael Bublé will be presented in two performances: Friday at 9:30 pm and Saturday at 7:00 pm.

The show aims to faithfully recreate Michael Bublé’s musical universe, combining high-level musicianship, elegant staging, and an immersive audiovisual experience. Vocalist Tiago Rodrigues performs Bublé’s greatest hits, accompanied by a nine-piece band under the musical direction of Carlos Santos (piano) and Josué Gomes (drums).


Tickets cost €10, with discounts available through the Cultural Passport, and can be purchased at municipal box offices and standard ticket outlets.

From the Algarve to the Stage

Tiago is originally from Portimão, but he has been living in Carvoeiro for many years.

His love for music had always been there, yet he didn't know about his talent until one evening when he stepped up for karaoke in a bar in Alvor, just next to the restaurant he was working at that time. He received applause after his performance, and later the owner of the bar asked him to perform there regularly.


He began singing at the bar a few times a week, but at that time his family was preparing to move to Germany, and he decided to go with them. Being 18 years old then, he missed his friends and the warm climate a lot and he decided to return. Back in Portugal, he resumed his job in Alvor, and soon after, he saw and advertisement for a band looking for a singer. This was his first experience as a band member, performing in many venues all over Algarve.


A tribute to Michael Bublé

Over time, Tiago connected with more musicians, and together they formed the 5ex band. He remains a member of the band while also performing as a solo artist. With a repertoire of around a 1,000 songs, Tiago is always adding new ones, depending on trends. He sings mostly in English but also includes a few Portuguese songs. He doesn't feel stressed during performances, only a rush of positive adrenaline that fuels his energy on stage.

Tiago has big plans for the future. At the moment, he is working on a new project Michael Bublé tribute, which will include several musicians, with the goal of performing on big stages, ideally all over Europe. With his band 5ex he already has international experience, mostly singing at weddings in different countries in Europe.


Busy schedule

Last year, Tiago married his long-term girlfriend Ines and together they have a four-year-old son. Summer is very busy season for the singer, which is why Tiago tries to plan his work around Carvoeiro area, so he can also spend a quality time with his family. His schedule is full, with no days off during the summer. You can see him performing at O pescador in Benagil, Café Fino or Black Salt restaurant in Carvoeiro and many other venues.


Beyond the stage

He also holds a degree in sports science and works as a football coach, although this year he is planning to take a break from coaching. When I asked Tiago, as a local from the Algarve, if there was any place he would recommend visiting, his answer was the coast between Lagos and Sagres. Villages like Salema and Burgao are among his very favourite.
