The initiative is organised by the Associação Recreativa, Cultural e Desportiva Amigos da Alta Mora (ARCDAA) and is part of a series of activities celebrating the landscape, nature, and culture of the Algarve mountains, bringing together participants of all ages for outdoor experiences.
Over the three days of the event, there will be several walking routes of varying difficulty—6, 8, and 12 kilometres—designed to enable widespread participation, including families. The walks start at 9:45 am and are limited to 500 participants per day.
For more experienced walkers, the organisers are offering the Grande Rota das Amendoeiras em Flor (Great Almond Blossom Trail), covering 20 kilometres, scheduled for 8 February. This route starts at 7.30 am and is limited to 75 participants.
The tour also includes an environmental component, with each participant receiving a reusable mug for use during meals and at refreshment stops along the routes, reducing waste and supporting the event's sustainability.
Registration is online via the official website and includes various participation options, with prices based on age and the selected package. The complete package includes breakfast and lunch, personal accident insurance, first-aid support, supplies along the route, and access to the rest of the festival's activities.
Participation is free for children aged 10 and under.
