afpop Loulé Area Event – 26/02/2026 Lunch at Restaurante Raízes

A wonderful gem of a restaurant ‘hidden in the hills’ and highly rated by members as an ideal place for an event, so here we go!

Enjoy some panoramic views of the hills at a restaurant that aims to showcase modern Portuguese gastronomy and strives to use high-quality national products. If required, they do have heating!

Date : February 26 (Thurs) from 12:30 pm. Lunch begins at 1:00 pm

Location: Restaurante Raízes Santa Bárbara de Nexe, km, 206,92, 8005-527 Faro

Price: €24 per Member (€27 per non-Members)

Booking: pre-booking and prepayment required—please confirm your attendance by sending a payment confirmation and MAIN MEAL OPTION (option 1,2 or 3) and DESSERT OPTION (option 1 or 2) by 20th of February 6pm.

Payment: You will receive payment details when you book to go to the event (please settle payment for any additional items directly to the restaurant).

Menu: Starters: Traditional Algarvian couvert – served family style Main course: Option 1: Slow cooked pork medallions in meat sauce with fig rice and vegetables Option 2: Fish & seafood rice (Portuguese Paella!)

In February I have arranged a lunch at São Domingos Gale Albufeira Saturday 28th 1.30pm. €32 includes tip. Please bring correct cash. €3 extra for non-Members, correct coinage please. Please reserve your place with me with food choices.

Starters: Bread olives Algarvian carrots tuna dip roast chevre with honey and almonds for everyone

Main course: Chicken breast steaks in creamy mushroom sauce with vegetable wild rice OR Grilled seabass fillets in mango and ginger sauce with vegetables and sauteed potatoes OR Courgette carrot chickpea in a mild curry sauce with wild rice
