Besides the 10 flights scheduled between 8 am and 10 am, six of them to the UK, there were no queues at the border checks at Faro Airport, leading to smooth airport operations.
According to information provided to The Portugal News, the EES was suspended, which may have led to faster border controls. This way, passenger control was handled through the traditional passport stamp.
Delayed flights
Although border control was quick, according to the ANA Aeroportos website, there are delays in registering flights in Faro.
For example, the Ryanair flight scheduled for 9:55 am, with destination to London, Stansted, departed at 10:34 am. The same happened with an easyJet flight to London Gatwick, scheduled for 10:10 am and departing at 10:41 am.
