According to Motorsport.com, talks have taken place between the Algarve track and Formula One’s new owners, but discussions are at an early stage.
The Portimão circuit reportedly believes it is ready to host a race, with the necessary infrastructure in place in the local area.
It is also suggested that the Portuguese government is ready to step in to supply the necessary funding to host a Grand Prix.

That would have to modify the circuit quite a bit I expect....especially hit the 'Hump' as f1 speeds...
This was pointed out to me by a couple of F1 drivers some years back who have raced other classes on the Portimao track.....and then theres the cost...Mmmm...They dont even have fresh water piped to the track and rely on daily trucks ( nor do thousands of households in the Algarve) ....
Then there is the legal side and Noise pollution issues..
Wont be easy...
