“The permanent monitoring of the evolution of the covid-19 pandemic in the Azores allows us to conclude that, in view of the evolution of the pandemic situation at a global level, and taking in consideration the opening of air connections from abroad to the islands of Santa Maria, São Miguel, Terceira, Pico and Faial, the maintenance of the declaration of the situation of public calamity is justified”, advanced the deputy regional secretary of the Presidency for Parliamentary Affairs.

Berto Messias was speaking, in Angra do Heroísmo, reading the communiqué of the Government Council, meeting last Monday, 13 July, on Terceira Island.
