In a note posted on Facebook, the municipality says that this situation determines the prohibition of bathing practice only at Praia da Parede, no other beaches are affected.

“A new sample was collected to carry out a counter analysis on the quality of bathing water. If the results of this show that the water quality is restored, the ban will be lifted”.

According to the municipality, Águas de Cascais is carrying out checks on the networks and sanitation systems, in order to ascertain the possible causes of the results obtained, since the cause of the contamination of the water is not clear.

The Câmara de Cascais also indicates that the other beaches in the municipality were subject to monitoring and analysis, with the results of the other beaches all being within the reference parameters.

The municipality adds that it is working closely with the competent authorities in this matter, namely with the Portuguese Environment Agency, the Captaincy of Cascais and the Directorate-General for Health.
