As the group has now become a registered association, we look forward to being able to help more families in more ways.

To enable us to do this we need more volunteers and more donations. Many areas of the Algarve know the Network very well and feel very confident that their donations will be well used. We would like to see this become more widespread so that we can all take ownership of the situation that we now face. If you think you can help please don’t hesitate – we need you – we need you all.

What does a ANFFIN volunteer look like? Well we are easy to recognise – we are all between 18 and 80, any gender, we have between a couple of hours and six days per week to offer and we all care very much about the most vulnerable people in our community. Yes, you guessed it – anyone can volunteer, everyone has something to offer. So, pick up the phone or send a message now.

Equally our donors are just as variable. We have received donations from the widest variety of people from different countries in Europe. We cannot thank, all of those who have donated, enough. We are truly grateful that we have been able to maintain our distribution of food to those in need for the last 6 months. We cannot stop now. Whilst in the past, our donations have come from individuals or small groups, more recently we have begun to be supported by sports clubs, shops, café’s as well as bars. Can your club/association help? Think about the following...

Could you:

  • Have weekly food collections
  • Have sponsored events
  • Hold fun evenings like the recent rock and roll evenings at Burgau
