Claudio, 28, was travelling on easyJet flight EZY7611, when he proposed to his girlfriend, Carla, who is also 28.
He took to the aircraft’s PA system to air his self-written proposal, to the surprise of an unsuspecting Carla and to the delight of the 156 passengers travelling with them to the Spanish capital.
With love quite literally in the air, Claudio then summoned Carla to the front of the A320 aircraft, where he got down on one knee and rounded off the declaration the old fashioned way. And fortunately she said yes.
The happy couple were gifted with chocolates and flowers by the British low-cost airline, as well as a pair of tickets to travel with easyJet in the future.
“I had planned to do this at a beautiful spot in Madrid. Then I thought it would be more original to do it during the flight.
“When I asked for help from easyJet and the response was so positive, I had no more doubts: it was going to be in the air”, Claudio recalls.
