The Mayor of Faro has this weekend warned of the "alleged deficiencies" of the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Service within the Algare University Hospital Group (CHUA) over the Christmas holidays due to the lack of professionals, which could lead to the service’s closure.
The warning was made in an email addressed to the Minister of Health, Marta Temido, released yesterday by Faro council.
In it, mayor Rogério Bacalhau, expressed concern that the only differentiated neonatal unit in the Algarve is operating on minimum elements.
