The Regional Section of the Centro dos Ordem dos Médicos (SRCOM) has announced the creation of a support group to guarantee the well-being for those who are fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.

“In the current context of great demand and emergency, even due to the complex technical-scientific and organisational updates almost daily, associated with physical and emotional stress, it will be important to share experiences on the impact of the crisis on technical and professional performance”, stresses the section president , Carlos Cortes, in a statement sent to the Lusa agency.
For doctors registered with SRCOM, every week, on Wednesday, the group will be activated, which can have a maximum of 10 participants, through videoconference on a digital platform.
Interested parties must register through the electronic address srcom.gam@gmail.com, with sessions between 9.30pm and 11pm.

According to the statement, the support group is run by psychiatrists João Redondo, coordinator of the SRCOM Physician Support Office, and Tiago Santos, a member of the same office.
“Sharing and reflecting on the challenges posed by the current pandemic, the balance of the personal and family cost of reorganising work and the inherent risks are general objectives of this group”, explains João Redondo.
