The event will feature "conferences, workshops, games, a market, children's workshops, music, among many other activities", says a note from the Mealhada City Council.

"The idea is to welcome spring, celebrate the Day of the Tree and the Forest and the World Water Day. It is also to enjoy a unique space - the City Park - in an initiative whose main theme is to raise awareness of the defence of the environment", describes the municipality chaired by Rui Marqueiro.

For both days, activities are scheduled for adults, such as conferences and workshops for building Asian wasp traps, tasting honey from the forest, teaching forest survival techniques or homemade mushroom production.

There are also several activities aimed at children, such as reuse workshops, stories in the forest and various games.

"The BioFestival of Spring will also be an event for families, as it is intended to bring them into the forest and provide them with moments of communion with nature, whether walking or having a picnic with the delicacies that can be purchased in 'Cantinho dos Sabores de Primavera'", says the note from the municipality.

The event has an exhibitor zone, 'showcooking', music, dance, theatre, exhibitions, walks, a night out for observation of wild species and the return to the nature of a wild animal by CERVAS - Centre for Ecology, Recovery and Surveillance of Wildlife.

The BioFestival de Primavera is part of the cycle of events "BioInovation", which aims to share knowledge of innovation inspired by nature, having already held, in November 2019, the BioFestival of Autumn.
