Health officials say the case involves a man who recently returned from Milan in Italy, where cases of the virus have spiked in recent days.
The man was admitted to the São João Hospital in Porto while awaiting results.
To date, 12 suspected cases have been logged in Portugal, all of which tested negative.
Very big mistake for leaving borders open, with a ageing population and a virus that atacks the sick weak and old, Portugal is really playing a game, our health system and economy, won't survive rather isolate now ,the only country to survive the 1918 pandemic was Australia and that because they where isolated ! It will be painful for the short term but in the long run it would prove to be the right thing to do , isolate now!

I am very concerned about the spread of this virus in Portugal. I have been following the map of the spreading virus through Europe and it’s all around us. Please consider closing the boarders until this epidemic is under control. I agree with the last comments it will be tough at the beginning in the long run you will all benefit. Please
