In the Algarve four councils will apply the minimum rate allowed by law of 0.3%. Albufeira, Alcoutim, Loulé and Monchique will have an IMI rate of 0.3 percent, while Faro, Tavira and Vila do Bispo have all dropped their rates.

Conversely, Castro Marim, in the Eastern Algarve, is the only council in the whole country to increase the amount charged.
