The Portuguese tax office said in a communiqué published in the Correio da Manhã newspaper, that “the electronic income tax return cannot be sent using the latest versions of Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge”.
Anyone who is experiencing problems with submitting tax returns is being advised to use Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari.
The tax authorities said that “in mid-2015, some browser manufacturers stopped supporting NPAPI technology and so the newer versions of Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge do not support Java technology”.
