A lack of tourists to Portugal saw port wine sales drop by over 40%.

The national market has been the most affected in terms of sales of Port wine, having fallen 40.26% between January and August. The data are from the Douro and Porto Wine Institute (IVDP) and reveal the effects of the lack of tourists in the country. Since 2017, with the boom in the tourism sector, Portugal had become the main market for Port wine, in terms of value, but this year, France once again took top spot on the podium.
