Portugal extends suspension of flights to and from Italy

The Government today announced the continuation of the suspension of flights to and from Italy for another 14 days, given the intensity of the covid-19 pandemic that is still occurring in the country.

“In view of the intensity of the covid-19 pandemic that still exists in Italy, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing, in conjunction with the Ministry of Health and Home Affairs, decided to extend the order of March 10, which suspended flights from all airlines, commercial or private, to or from Portuguese airports or aerodromes to all regions of Italy ”, the Government announced in a statement.

The new order that extends the suspension of air connections with Italy takes effect at 00:00 on Wednesday and runs until April 7, however, it does not apply to “State aircraft, flights for the exclusive transportation of cargo and mail , as well as flights of a humanitarian or medical emergency nature and technical stopovers for non-commercial purposes ”.

Só agora? Sabendo que a maior parte dos casos ocorridos em Portgal foram traçados e originados na Itália é de uma teimosia, estupidez e negligência absolutamente criminosas que esta medida só agora tenha sido tomada!
