The aim was revealed by TAP’s North American director, upon announcing the re-launch of flights between Toronto and Lisbon after an absence of 23 years.
Flights will initially be solely focussed on the summer months, with five weekly flights starting on the 10th of June that will continue until the end of September.
You'll need to add Canada to your location list. But - Summer air travel is hardly a gateway and Toronto is hardly Canada. Go 3000 miles- 4800 kilometers and you get to Vancouver. Much better place to travel to and from. The west coast people also travel 12 months a year every year. Air Canada is also a poor choice for travel. Try Westjet.

The price offered is not competitive, wow air westjet and transat offer significantky cheaper deals to europe. Interestingly 3 years ago sata was offering the cheapest toronto to europe (lisbon) flights but their prices have risen significantly and they were not well advertised and they dubiously would force customers travelling the reverse trip to toronto to purchase onward travel tickets even though this was not a canadian customs requirement so that anyone denied entry by the canadians couldnt be returned at satas cost whuch is standard customs/airline practice worldwide or sata would refuse to carry them on the ticket theyd already purchased to toronto which is probably illegal under european consumer law also.
