The news comes after the Committee went to the presidential palace in Lisbon to personally hand an invitation to President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
The Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro are to be held between the 5th and 21st of August with Portugal already securing 56 participants at what is the world’s biggest sporting event.
