In a statement, the regulator states that the "change to the network of DTT broadcasters [digital terrestrial television] will advance to the second phase, which begins on 24 February and ends on 10 March".

This is the migration of the 700 MHz frequency band, essential for the development of the new generation 5G technology, whose proposal for a regulation for the auction of allocation of spectrum licenses is under public consultation.

"In this period, 24 emitters will be changed, the first of which is that of Vila Nova de São Bento, in the municipality of Serpa", says the regulator.

According to the calendar of the tuning dates of the DTT broadcasters, on 25 February it is Moura's turn and the next day by Ferreira do Alentejo.

On 27 February, the network of Melides and Barrancos emitters will be changed, followed by Reguengos de Monsaraz, Grândola and Borba.

On 2 March, Beja, Redondo and Alcácer do Sal will be in charge, the following will be held in Évora - Intervinhas, Serpa and Montemor-o-Novo.

Évora Centro, Alta and São Bento, Évora and Mora will see the change in the network of DTT broadcasters taking place on 4 March, Vila Viçosa, Santiago do Cacém, the following day, and Volta da Pedra, Palmela and Sesimbra on 6 March.

On 9 March, it is the turn of Cruz de Pau and Caparica, ending in Almada the next day.

"When the television screen goes black, it will only be necessary to tune in the television or DTT decoder and they will continue to watch television for free", says Anacom, stressing that to help in this process the regulator created a toll-free telephone line ( 800 102 002), which works every day between 9am and 10am, to clarify doubts.

"If they are not able to tune the equipment for themselves or with the help provided through the toll-free number, "Anacom" will schedule a visit to the person's home to tune in, with their technicians and free of charge".

"Attention, Anacom will only go to the home of those who call 800 102 002 and if, following that contact, the visit is scheduled", warned the regulator.
