According to the definitive data published by Statistics Portugal, this change is due in part to the recovery of prices of restaurants and hotels, with, in the opposite direction, a more significant reduction in fuel prices in August than the previous month.
Underlying inflation (which excludes unprocessed food and energy) recorded a year-on-year change of 0.2% in August, 0.3 percentage points higher than in July.
This data coincides with the rapid estimate of consumer prices published by Statistics Portugal on 31 August.
