The accident occurred at 5:19 pm, when the motorcyclist ran over a pedestrian, then crashed into another vehicle, a source for the Faro District Relief Operations Command (CDOS) said.

According to the same source, at the site at 18:30 there were a total of 20 operating officers, supported by nine vehicles, and the section of EN 125 was temporarily cut off for traffic.

At the scene of the accident were members of the GNR, firefighters and the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM).

One of the fatalities of a person aged about 25 years old and the other person was described asbeing between 45 and 50 years old.
