This will be one of four major events to be held in Portugal in the coming weeks, which will see 1,500 travel industry experts heading for Portugal.
The ABTA conference will be held over three days in Ponta Delgada and will focus on financial, political and tourism issues facing the industry.
This will be followed by Irish travel agents gathering in Porto at the end of this week, while Thomas Cook is to bring over more than 600 operators to the Algarve in November.
We have recently bought into the Algarge having spent a few years in Ireland...I'm Irish, previously, we were 10 years in Penang, Malaysia, operating the Green House cafe as a 'go to' spot for incoming and prospective 'Malaysia my Second Home' people. I think perhaps it might be an idea if we did the same thing here...win, win...we'll see, but our experience accounted for a lot of happy retirees and we would like to help make the same thing happen here. New comers are always worried about asking some questions of locals for fear of offending them.
