Newspaper Correio da Manhã reports that the first year Biology student at Algarve University was left foaming from the mouth and needed to be taken to Faro Hospital after being forced to drink alcohol.


According to authorities around 30 youngsters were taking part in the ceremony and dozens of empty bottles were found on the beach.


The 19-year-old was rushed to hospital in an alcoholic coma but was discharged late Thursday evening.
