The tax is to come into force in December and will be €2 in high season, between 1 April and 30 September, and €1 the rest of the year.
The tax will be charged on all paid overnight stays per guest aged 16 or over up to a maximum of seven nights, in all tourist undertakings and short-term rents in Vila Nova de Gaia”.
The tax is also to be levied on all guests regardless of where they come from or how the booking is made.
