Restrictions imposed on New Year’s Eve due to the Covid pandemic will be accompanied by a reinforcement of police patrolling in the Algarve.

The Faro PSP police force guarantees it will reinforce officers, including riot police, to act on any illegal parties reported on New Year's Eve. The new government provisions, including a curfew starting at 11 pm on December 31, are generating a wave of cancellations in the few hotels in the region that remain open.
