Germany records nearly 1,000 deaths in 24 hours

Germany has again recorded almost 1,000 deaths from covid-19 in the last 24 hours, having also recorded 11,369 new cases, according to data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI)


The total number of cases in the country, since the beginning of the pandemic, is 2,052,028 and so far 47,622 people have died, 989 in the last 24 hours.

The maximum number of contagions was registered on the 18th of December with 33,777 infections in 24 hours.

Last Thursday, the number of deaths was 1,244 in 24 hours.

According to the RKI, 1,716,200 people have managed to recover from the disease, with 302,326 cases still active throughout the country.
