The new lockdown restrictions caused by Covid-19, have led to the suspension of tourist activity and therefore, TCP has presented these initiatives, which serve to “help take people to the region in a virtual way”, according to a press release.

The initiative called “#CentrodePortugalonline” is based on several regular articles, which appear on the TCP ‘site’, in which “several destinations that can be visited in a digital way are presented.”

The first publication which is dedicated to the museums of Centro de Portugal, provides virtual visits and can be found at https://bit.ly/2LZfyWW.

The next articles will feature other destinations in the region, such as World Heritage Sites, Wine Routes and Wineries, Virtual Festivals and Historic Gardens, among others.

The “weekly podcast of Turismo Centro de Portugal” is another initiative, an “online radio programme that gives a voice to the protagonists of the region”.

This ‘podcast’ will feature several “well-known figures from the region”, who will suggest in the first three editions “routes and visits in the centre of Portugal”.

André Sardet will be the first special guest in the most recent episode, available at https://spoti.fi/2NxsCD4.

Turismo Centro de Portugal, on its website, will also have a section called “The best places in Centro de Portugal for...”, where destinations in the region will be suggested for various purposes.

“The best places ‘to cry with joy, emotion or longing’, ‘to breathe at the top of your lungs’, ‘to date, kiss or propose marriage’ or ‘to relieve stress and keep fit’ are some examples,” explains a note from the entity that promotes tourism in the Central Region of the country.

Pedro Machado, president of Turismo Centro de Portugal, says that the initiatives will help to show “how much there is to know” and “encourage people to return to the region, as soon as possible”.
