UAlg pledges to eliminate single-use plastics by 2025.

The University of Algarve (UAlg) has signed a protocol with the Portuguese Pact for Plastics, which sees members pledge to eliminate single-use plastics by 2025. This initiative, the university explained, "aims to promote a joint and collaborative path between industry and research, with a view to accelerating the transition to a circular economy for plastics in Portugal, where they will never become waste or pollution". About 80 entities including NGOs, associations and universities, have signed the pact.
