Concert halls close at 10pm on weekdays and 1pm on weekends

The cinemas and theatres, which should be able to reopen from 19 April, will have to close at 10pm on weekdays and at 1pm on weekends, clarified today the General Inspection of Cultural Activities.

According to the Government's new ‘easing lockdown plan’, announced on 11 March, theatres, auditoriums and cinemas can reopen from 19 April. "In this regard, it is important to inform that the closing time of theatres , cinemas and auditoriums is at 10pm on weekdays and at 1pm on weekends and holidays", reads an explanation today published official website of the General Inspection of Cultural Activities (IGAC).

Some entities in the Culture sector had already warned that the conditions under which spaces could reopen are unclear, particularly with regard to the capacity or applicable times. Cultural activities began to be resumed, in stages, on Monday, when they were able to reopen bookstores, record stores, libraries and archives. As far as the Culture sector is concerned, on 5 April, museums, monuments, palaces, art galleries can reopen.

On 19 April, in addition to the reopening of theaters, auditoriums, theaters and cinema, "events abroad, subject to approval by the Directorate-General for Health" can also be resumed. On 3 May, great outdoor and indoor events, subject to the capacity defined by the DGS”, can again take place, which may include festivals. In the presentation of the ‘deconfinement plan’, the Prime Minister stressed that the reopening process will be “gradual and is always subject to a biweekly reassessment, according to the risk assessment” adopted.
